9/2 Matthew 4-6

Chapter 5 starts the Sermon on the Mount.  Wow if that was a sermon today I doubt that we could gather it all in at one sitting.  It’s almost as if Jesus is letting the people know were God stands on all these topics. So they will know where his ministry is coming from.  The salt and light section really brings to bear a question for us, which are we.  Are we still salty or have we lost some of our saltiness?  Are we a bright shining light or are we a dull bulb? Do we hide our light when others are looking?

The last chapter has a very powerful verse “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”  How hard do we seek God’s kingdom?  Everyday? Only on Sunday’s?  This is something that I will need to ponder more.  So many questions and so little RAM to compute the answers.  I think I need an upgrade.
