Men’s Fraternity – The Quest for Authentic Manhood

Please join us for a weekly series starting September 19th, from 7:30am – 9:00am

Men’s Fraternity provides men with an encouraging process that teaches them how to live lives of authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ and directed by the Word of God

The Quest for Authentic Manhood is more than just a study title.  It describes the very hopes and challenges we have as Christian men.

THE GOAL

Imagine the transforming power of men coming together within your church and community to honestly examine their lives and take the courageous steps necessary to embrace authentic manhood on a journey to become who God intends them to be. That is the goal of Men’s Fraternity.
When men connect in life-changing ways, a powerful ripple effect touches families, workplaces, and the church. Deeper connections with God and other men inspire participants to connect more meaningfully in all facets of their lives. They climb beyond the walls of isolation and aspire to a biblical viewpoint marked by integrity, boldness, and compassion.  Through this powerful series, men learn to reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously, and expect God’s greater reward.

The True Power of Men’s Fraternity lies in bringing men together and listening to each other.  There are no gimmicks, just an informal 45 minute teaching period followed by 20-30 minutes for men to gather in smaller groups to talk about what they’ve heard, how it applies to their everyday problems and offer their mutual support.

The impact can be felt not just in our lives, but also in our families, in the workplace, and even in the church.

Men’s Fraternity is about you.  Discovering your strengths and weaknesses, strengthening your relationships, and making new ones.

Pledge to join us for our next adventure!!

9/3 Matthew 7-9

Chapter 7 really starts off strong with verses 7 & 8.

7“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

We almost always ask when it is something big or something bad or something scary.  Do we always ask, always?  Hmmmm…..  Even for the small stuff?

Then is chapter 8 just to follow up on asking.  Once we ask, do we truly believe that God will answer our request?  These two verses really hit the old hard drive.

10When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

and

13Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very hour.

For Jesus to be astonished by a human.  I’m well, astonished.  I mean I guess he could be astonished that people reject him.  But for someone to exhibit that type of faith and then for Jesus to answer him based solely on his faith, now that is is is astonishing.  I have to do some recalculating on this asking thing.
