9/7 Matthew 15-17

“Who do you say I am?”  What a question.  That is a question that we each should answer each and every day of our lives.  We answer it in our daily actions.  We answer it by sharing the answer with those that don’t know the answer.  The answer that Peter stated so well is of course, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  Sharing that kind of life saving information with a friend of family member may well be the most important thing that we could ever do for them.

In must of been beyond Peter, James, and John’s comprehension to be present while Jesus talked to Moses and Elijah.  To imagine that they were there with the three of them, two of the most revered from their past and the greatest ever to be, all in one place and here they were just three fishermen.  Of course if that wasn’t enough, what happened next sent them face down before their God.

They heard a voice say,

“This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

6When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” 8When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.

To hear the voice of God and to be in His presence must have been truly exciting and frightening at the same time.  Would that situation put you on your face?  I hope it would.
