9/18 Mark 15-16

It was interesting that when Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome when to the tomb after the death of Jesus, the angel said to them

6“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’ “

I focused right in on this part of verse 7 “tell his disciples and Peter.”  It is interesting that Peter is separated from the other disciples.  I wonder if it is to set apart Peter from the rest as leader? Or maybe it was to recognize that Peter suffered remorse because of his denial of Jesus.  Does God call us out by name when we let Him down?  Does He attempt to restore us when we fail Him?  Maybe so when we read how low Peter must of sunk and how high God raised him up, we can apply that to our own lives and realize that God is not finished with us, yet.
